36 days of flowers

research

This was my first stab at the 36 Days of Type project. First, I began by looking up what kind of flowers inspire me. I used this research for writing I would later add to the project.

illustrate & design

The core element of this was the illustration, which I used as an opportunity to gain more experience in Procreate. I turned the project into something more by creating a set of notecards out of it to show both my illustration and design skills.

publish

Lastly, I published all thirty-six illustrations to Instagram as a submission to the officiroject, as well as printing the notecards.

At work, I became known as the flower person for never failing to buy flowers from the weekly farmers market. I had always wanted to be a part of the 36 Days of Type project, and this was the perfect opportunity to combine three things I love—type, flowers, and illustration.

This originally was only going to have a digital output on Instagram, but I wanted to elevate it even further by transforming it into another thing I love—print design.

This project was done right after I purchased my iPad and Pencil, and was the perfect way to start practicing in Procreate. It was my first major project using the software.
